Our group of 10 in which some have known each other for a long time but some have met for the first time, have the same passion of backpacking the imposing Northwest of Vietnam.

The road we chose this time is from Hanoi to Nghia Lo, passing Khau Pha Pass to come to the golden rice valley of Mu Cang Chai. From there, we conquer O Quy Ho-the highest pass in Vietnam, go along Vietnam China border to reach Lung Cu headland – the Northern point of our country.

The Northwest is attractive for not only the majestic mountainous sceneries but also for the terrible roads with high slope and rugged with stones. To be successful, it is in need of both self efforts and team spirit. Those are memorable experiences for us.

Sometimes, when night fell but the remaining road is still long, we stopped on the road side to take a rest. The atmosphere seemed to be quiet in the dark of mountains and forests, under the moonlight.

The path along border connecting Lao Cai and Ha Giang look wonderful with rolling hills and mountains. Looking down from this road, we will see the other paths like the silk ribbons passing hills and mountains.

Located between the Northwest and Northeast, Ha Giang is also the famous destination for backpacking Vietnam with many impressive landscapes.

The roads on halfway up the mountain with deep chasms on one side and towering mountains on the other side made us feel that we were moving in a dreamy 2 – dimensional space.

Dong Van Plateau is recognized as the Global Geopark with rocky terrain formed hundreds millions years ago.

The road leading to Lung Cu flag pole is waving in the mountainside. The further place is Lô Lô Chải village.

From Lung Cu, we did not come back as the coming road, but took a large round passing Ma Phi Leng Pass to reach to the dreaming roads of adventurers.
